Wikipedia is really good to find out weird things, like the origin of a lot of the curse words used today. I had a book that also had made mention about a lot of the curse words origins along with everyday ordinary items. Wish I could find that book again, it was really interesting.
Check out the history of toilet paper http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet_paper , What I found so interesting was this in the timeline.... 1935: Northern Tissue advertises its toilet paper as "splinter-free". Imagine, toilet paper with splinters, OUCH.
