Re: need help picking airsoft gun please

Just a note, Airsoft and pellet guns are two totally different things. There is no such thing as an Airsoft "pellet" gun although there are some Airsoft single shot gas or spring powered sniper rifles that fire a metal BB, they are generally banned from use in the US by the players.

Re: need help picking airsoft gun please

well..the wife just called, and since we have had really warm afternoons, there is now a "rank and disgusting" smell in the front living room of the house..so it appears that maybe some of the poisons have worked on "something"..so now i get to crawl my fat ass up in the attic this evening and try to get "something dead" out of there before the whole house starts to stink..

lovely being a homeowner...

i am gonna pick up my new "Whisper Deluxe" this weekend for some extermination there at the house..

Seems like you found the right tool! 1200FPS with .177 pellets should do the job no?

Re: need help picking airsoft gun please

if it does it quietly enough to keep me outta the hoosegow i will be happy enough..

i got some nasty pm's form some "treehuggers" that think i am like worse than the bastards that club baby seals cause i am gonna get rid of some pesky squirrels..! hahahahaha

that cracks me up..!! i been shooting squirrels, armadillos, turkeys, deer, elk, mountain lions, bobcats, raccoons, possums, nutrea, antelope, turtles and snakes since i was old enough to hold a gun and not scare everyone around me...of course living where we did, i had my own truck at age 13 and drove to school after pulling sheep and cows out of the stock tank and putting out hay and blocks...i have in my possession over 20 guns, from flat-top AR's, to vintage shotty's to my everyday carry glocks...

man..the treehuggers amuse me! hahahahahah

guess they thought evolution somehow means "vegetarian" or something! hahahaha

stoopid tree huggers! I think we need to use more Agent Orange to get them to go away.

Glad to see you found that one and are going to grab it. I would have suggested after we talked maybe putting a suppressor on a little .22LR Plinkster but then if you did miss there goes the neighbor's window.

I think squirells are "Cute", but they are nothing more than bushy tailed rats, and some do carry the Bubonic Plague

Plague that is, lol...

Any animal can be a pest, even if it is "cute" or endangered or someone's pet. Anytime they infringe on our lives, they become a pest but they same can be said about our ravaging of their habitat. BUT, we are at the top of the food chain, so to hell with them!

Re: need help picking airsoft gun please

I'm a tree hugger but not your typical one. I grew up around firearms and hunting so I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem with destroying habitat and people who lack respect for wildlife along with their place in this world. I also used to work inspecting forestry operations and other destructive activities in the forest and don't look at them in such a harsh light as others do now. Once you actually know a bit more about logging etc. and have seen things in person as well as the economic aspects you're not as hard core about tree hugging.

Wow sorry for the tangent

My last suggestion was going to be get a 3 1/4" air nailer. You wouldn't have much aim with it but a with a full coil of nails surely you could hit something (imagining birdie lugging around 100' of hose, air compressor humming in the background, nails flying all over) I have seen some crazy stuff with air nailers though and heard some nasty stories. I think that pellet gun is your best bet.

Re: need help picking airsoft gun please

Lol, air nailers can be fun, but dangerous. I did a bit of roofing one summer and had a little fun with them. Another fun tool is a RamSet gun. It uses something like a .25cal blank to set nails in concrete and cinderblocks.

With a papermill in town, I see quite a bit on logging and it does tend to change your perception of "tree hugging" I guess. I also have a deep respect for wildlife and nature regardless of my attempts at humor. I'm an avid four wheeler and rock crawler and while I follow Tread Lightly standards as much as I can, it pains me to see what some of the other guys are doing on the trails. But that's about as close to tree hugging as I get. I'm surprised this thread wasn't pounced on by some anti gun activist shouting about how Airsoft teaches kids to kill. We get those from time to time on some of the Airsoft forums, lol.

Re: need help picking airsoft gun please

I am a tree hugger as well, and work pretty much as a park ranger.
Speaking of pests, humans are the biggest pests there are. A pest is something that bothers you? That pretty much sums up the human race with the way they treat the planet.
But I wasn't one of the ones that pm'ed ya. Instead, I tried offering some better alternatives such as trapping so you wouldn't have them die in your walls and have to climb your fat ass up there or probably have to tear open the drywall. Enjoy the smell. You can consider that the smell of a small victory.
And if you are going to shoot them with pellets, probably shouldn't go with the pointed tip ones. At 1200fps, would probably go right through them and let them run off to die in your walls again, or somewhere up on your roof.
Explain that to the neighbors.
Did you look into the Humane socity or shelter coming and trapping for free?

So your a closet hugger then

I have used ram sets as well, really fun when your down in the foundation with a concrete floor. "WHAT, I CAN'T HEAR YOU?" Or you get your hand to close to the chamber "[sniff] hmm I can smell bacoon, whos cooking bacoon on site? Ouch Ouch Ouch!"

i think you have me wrong brutha man..

the trapping has not worked at all..a complete failure, which really sucks, as it would be the best solution for sure...and I was really hoping the airsoft would be viable, as the pellet/bb is dangerous...i do not like shooting into the air at all, especially in town, as you know, what goes up must come down...but i do not especially like having to worry about one of the little things causing a short and burning down the house. so they have to go..ya know?

as far as the way we have treated the planet, i agree...it is going to be up to our children to figure a way to get past the oil issue and start making a real change..our, or at least my generation is sure making some noise about it, but even these un-Godly fuel prices do not seem to even deter them from buying these big gas hog SUV's and stuff...

Yo Birdie try this site for all your squirrel owning needs. http://www.airsplat.com/
They are the largest retailer of airsoft guns and they sell very reliable equipment. You'll be pleased

Re: need help picking airsoft gun please

I hope he was joking. I wouldn't buy a single BB from Airsplat.com. For those interesting in getting into Airsoft, please, do a little research on the companies you deal with before you buy. Check the many Airsoft forums out there for a "retailer feedback" forum and see what is said about people's experiences with a retailer you intend to use. It could save you headaches down the road. But yeah, I have never dealt with Airsplat but have had several close friends who have had very bad experiences with them. Oh, and they claim to be the largest us Airsoft retailer, which is not true.
