I think it would be interesting to see how many manga and anime enthusiasts there are in TG. Then you can split those groups up between Raw, Sub, and Dub fans. The genres themselves would be another point of study since, obviously, there are more than just giant mech series.

As for Eureka7 I found it interesting to watch and archived the Nanashi group releases being they are the only group to finish all 50 episodes. There is actually a lot of science in the science fiction and those boards are based of the theory of solar sails. The whole capturing waves of radiation as a form of movement. Wouldn't really call myself an enthusiast though.

Gundam Seed was also interesting to watch the first time through and the ending seemed appropriate, but on the second time around I found the angsty whining a bit over the top.

Gundam Seed Destiny was a milker of the GSeed name and included more angst and more canned animation than you could shake a beam saber at. It also took the ending of Seed and ripped it up, turned it upsidedown, and taped it together rather sloppily. Seriously...the first time WMDs were brought into play in GSeed was a huge plot point, in GSD they're thrown around like candy. Also as visually spectacular the first kills made by Strike Freedom are, the fact that they reuse the kill animation and reskin the targets for the last 11.5 (if you count the recap ending) episodes is tiresome.

Gundam Seed is best acquired from KickAssAnime (KAA)

Gundam Seed Destiny is a bit harder to get a hold of, but AnimeKingdom-AnimeOne and then their branch group HaroHaroToriTori are the copies you want to get a hold of.

My favorite anime is still Juuni Kokuki or 12 Kingdoms subbed by KAA as well. Nothing to do with giant mechs wielding super large weapons over compensating for having teen pilots though.

US DVD releases are risky for a variety or reasons. So much is lost in translation when they 'Americanize' some of the animes.

You never know when you'll get something like the following:

^^^Yes you do. Just need to avoid anything by 4kids. ADV/Funimation/Bandai are alright.

Granted the US anime market is looking rather bleak at the moment. I expect ADV to go under soon and Geneon (formally Pioneer) has already kicked the butt.

Google Dattebayo for the best downloadable English Sub for Naruto (It's free, legal and good quality). It uses bittorrent's by the way.

I don't really know about any other animes, I just used to go Veoh. Good quality I don't like clogging up my hard drive, so...

I watched a fair amount of the episode on Cartoon Network. It was pretty good, I'm assuming the uncut, undubbed would be better though

You would be soooo damn right in assuming that.

Even though I, unlike most, Don't mind the English dub, and I watch it, and the sub (watch both versions of every episode as they l kinda give different interpretations and angles and help me get a clearer overall picture in my head), but in terms of action, the Japanese sub is like sooooo much better.

Meh...ANBU&AOne are the top subbers for the, now finished, Naruto series.

Dattebayo (DB) is the one to go to for Naruto Shippuuden which is considered a completely different series since its a continuation of Naruto after the 100+ filler episodes that made followers say "WTF is this crap?".

If you want to talk long standing series then you can't neglect One Piece which, like Naruto, was butcher by Foxbox and thus sparked the comic I posted. For early seasons Kaizoku-Fansubs (KF) is the one to go to and Vegapunk has been doing a bang up job of getting the recent releases.

Naruto and One Piece are both VERY good animes (hence why Naruto is in the 270 episode mark counting both branches and One piece is hitting 400+ with 8 movies) that will probably continue to be overlooked due to the horrible dubbing they recieved.

Never liked One Piece, yet only saw the dub, so that might have something to do with it, since I've heard nothing but good things about it.

In fact, in Japan, One Piece is the most watched/favorite Shonen anime, with Naruto coming in as a close second (I think...although this info may be either outdated or wrong, since I read it somewhere from somewhere I can't remember ages ago).

Re: Eureka seveN enthusiasts do you exist?

I think it might be a toss up between One Piece and Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan/Case Closed). Anyways I seem to have gotten numbers mixed up a bit.

One Piece is at episode 349 and is in the middle of the story arc behind the manga (which just started a new arc). Considering how relatively short Thriller Bark was in the manga it'll probably wrap up around 360-370 and have a few filler episodes before officially hitting the 'half way' mark and starting on Mermaid Island. The manga just released Chapter 492.

Meitentei Conan doesn't have as strong a plot line as One Piece or Naruto, but as a mystery thriller it can replace plot material easily with good filler by adding extra 'cases' and keep a good pace (unlike Naruto which fell flat when they added episodes to the first series). It's currently at episode 500 while the manga is at chapter 643.

Naruto has a rather interesting history since it was strong until the series 'ended' at episode 135. Episode 136-220 (when the series terminated) were filler episodes that cost the show a lot of fans since it was just crap made up by the anime producers to stall for time. Naruto Shippuuden is the second series and starts off as the real episode 136 of the story. It currently has 50 episodes. That brings Naruto up to 185 episodes (270 with filler crap included) and the manga has 393 chapters.

Of course if you want outrageously popular 'we can't be bothered with making anime episodes anymore' series then you can't forget Hajime no Ippo or Inuyasha. Hajime no Ippo had an anime series running 75 episodes while the manga is at chapter 805. Yes...805 chapters at 15 pages each...that's 12075 pages (not including extra long specials). Inuyasha (everyone should know about that series from Toonami) was 167 episodes long, but the manga is at chapter 545 and still going.

Oh yeah! Bleach is also popular and currently at episode 167 and chapter 314. However like Naruto it has a checkered past due to the fact that the filler episodes after the Soul Society story arc were so bad a lot of people abandoned the series. Luckily the fillers didn't run for long and now its back up in popularity (though filler dread is still rampent).
