A salesman decided to hold a contest to guess the # of silver dollars in a jar in his store window. Jill guessed 61, Bill guessed 59, Jimmy guessed 60, Seth guessed 58 and Robert guessed 62. Only one was correct. Two were wrong by 2. Two were off by 1.

How many silver dollars were there?

Re: How Smart Are You?

60 is the obvious answer, unless there is some trick. It seems too easy.

Re: How Smart Are You?

The sequence is out of order, obfuscating it, but the guesses are 58-62 consecutive. 5 guesses, so the 2 outer ones are off by 2 and the 2 inner ones off by 1, the one in the middle correct.

Re: How Smart Are You?

They were all correct. Each one nicked a dollar while the salesman was writing the guess on the whiteboard.

True. Vietnam Memorial Wall, designed by Maya Lin at age 21 while she was an undergraduate.

I can provide more links backing the vistor count if necessary. It surpassed the Lincoln Memorial, which used to be the most visited memorial.

Re: How Smart Are You?

It is a great work of art, its a shame nowadays that it takes so long for anything to be completed (lawyers are really the blame for all of this, as well as D1sposableher0), perfect example the WW2 Memorial, and the not even started 9/11 WTC memorial....its a sham, but I remember going to the memorial way back in the early 90's and seeing how magnificent it is and how it really is a beautiful work of art. If ferris' links make you want to find out more, check out the Vietnam Memorial that is in New Mexico (you will have to google it i don't recall the website) But its the largest Vietnam Veterans Memorial in the US I believe.

So bamboo, i didn't get any points for my answer to your beer question?

Re: How Smart Are You?

Ferris Bueller is correct for a +1. I live just across the river from DC and the monuments, and it a really amazing place to visit. I went on a school trip in the 6th grade (1988) to the memorial, and never in a million years thought I would end up living up here.

Easy fact or crap for you all

"The rare and deadly polyorchid grows in Polynesia."

Is that statement fact or crap, and you need to provide links and possibility pics......
