the $60 mattress covers have a liner that keeps stains from bleeding through to the mattress.

I recommend the cover for any mattress, b/c in 10 years, a standard mattress will double in weight from dust mites and sluffed off skin cells.

while Tempurpedic mattresses do not suffer from that nastiness, all mattresses can get stained, and a 60 washable and replaceable cover is a good investment for something you spend 1/3 of your life on.

Re: Sleep Number Mattress?

I have known a individuals and couples that have owned them

The individuals have generally liked them. They don't rave or complain. They have said they like being able to change the firmness. One guy I know liked it because when he had muscle spasms in his back he could make it really firm therefore didn't have to sleep on the floor.

The couples have been a mixed bag. Some hate them because if you have a large difference between the two you have to sleep only on your side of the bed. Shift over and you fall off a cliff, like somebody mentioned earlier. If you don't use the different numbers whats the point?

And one final, odd, thing. One couple claimed that they could have better marital relations on it. They said it made certain positions easier and less tiresome. Take that for what you may.

Re: Sleep Number Mattress?

Whenever I see the phrase "marital relations", I envision a shrink in the room. (Remember when you couldn't say "pregnant" in mixed company?)

Re: Sleep Number Mattress?

I just noticed skin and acne ads in the acne thread, so I came back here and found 2 mattress commercials on this page. (The 3rd ad just says "Loading..." but that might be my connection.)

Well, in that case... with a tempurpedic you can have "marital relations" on it and not spill your martini sitting on the edge either Less recoil, more firm action... mmmmmmm

Re: Sleep Number Mattress?

We have a fair expensive pillow top mattress.

Hint: when they say no rotation/flipping needed: they lie.

I want memory foam, but my wife hates it. In other words.... no memory foam for skylark :-(
