I dunno if that site is a scam or not, but HHO cells as fuel sources are legit. Here's video of a Ford F-150 with one installed.

As soon as that annoying thing popped up I figured it was a scam.

My question is if it's so easy and these parts can be found at your local hardware store, etc, etc, etc... Why aren't we hearing more about this? Why don't more people yet know about this?

I'll wait until it seems to catch on and have gone through a good amount of use.

Are you serious? I've been reading about it in several news articles, on 4 different radio shows and on the local news twice. Most of the news stories have been about the Hydro4000, though...

How much it really helps depends on your car and the way you drive. All it does is ensure that more of the fuel in the cylinder gets burned each cycle.

I think the better thing to do would be to make your own fuel using something like a moonshiners still. can be done with just about anything that is biodegradable also. Here is some info on it. http://journeytoforever.org/ethanol_link.html I been looking at this site on how to make Biodiesel and some others. thinking of trying it to see how my truck will run on it. They have plans for the home made biodiesel processor, I am not sure if they have any for ethanol though. Be easy enough to find though, lol. Run it in your car and when you wanna relax sit back and drink a little of it to, lol.

    EDIT:
After doing some more reading of producing ethanol I found out you need to obtain a federal permit from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, http://www.ttb.gov/industrial/distil..._ethanol.shtml Seems hey always have something to keep the little guy from getting ahead, lol. More headache than it is probably worth.

No, I just thought I would post that for you to respond to with the question, "Are you serious?" Yes... I am, obviously (or not). I think I have seen one news story on it a few months ago but nothing besides that and I watch the news (and read the news sites) daily.

But to be honest, I really didn't mean just the media coverage. I would like to start actually meeting people or hearing about people who have it. Until then, it definitely doesn't have as much merit with me, whether or not it may be a legit way to run your car.

Yeah, I don't know if it's going to catch on... Folks are trying to turn it into a multi-level marketing business, or a DIY-buy-the-plans-for-$100 thing, and neither of those are helping its credibility. Nor are the outrageous claims. From what I understand, the device will increase your MPG by a few percent. It'll clean up your emissions by a LOT, though... <shrug> You'll not see me getting one until I can buy one and have it installed for a couple hundred bucks.

Theres a simpler solution than all this. Get a diesel car, make the very simple conversion to using fry oil (they show you exactly how to do it on mythbusters) and start paying visits to your local mcdonalds for free gas. Downside is that you may gain a few hundred pounds because your car will constantly smell like french fries.

Now that I would consider... that's been going on for some time too.

You know, it sounds to me like theres a budding business there in the "fry oil recycling" industry. Think about it, you go to all the fast food restaurants in town, collect their used oil, haul it back to your shop, run it through some super fine micron filters to get all the gunk out, then resell it as cheap gasoline. Sounds like a good way to make a fortune to me!

You know, you can power electronics with your blood too. So technically, you could run your car on blood.
