Grid
http://www.fileplanet.com/186561/180...info/GRID-Demo
This is a Demo for the realistic racing game, GRID.
Wow. That's all I have to say. This game is phenomenal. I don't like racing games, but thought, "Hm, a PC racing game... I wonder" so I downloaded it. And it's one of the most realistic and most intense racing games I've played. It may not be as much fun as a joy stick controller, and you have to use arrow keys to drive/accelerate/decelerate, but it is still very, very fun. Even if you hate racing games, play it. It's very interesting, and the graphics are insane on it, and it doesn't lag at all. Please try it out and post what you think about it here."...and they call me ready to deploy, engage and destroy, wherever you need me to be. I'm an American Warrior!"

Re: Grid
Looks great! What kind of computer do I need to achieve those kinds of graphics? Something tells me that my laptop just won't hang.

Re: Grid
Shuri's impression:
Good:
-Graphics are phenomenal.
-Good sense of immersion. You don't feel like you're in a box in the middle of space - you're really in a big city.
-Damage modeling.
-You don't necessarily need to win to reap the rewards. Goals are forgiving. In the same line of thought, you don't need to win every single event.
Bad:
-Radio voiceovers are superfluous.
-Vehicles handle like weightless RC toy cars.
-Customization is doubtful.
-Same interface as in DiRT! A little less clunky, but not enough of a step forward.
-Obvious imitation of NFS: ProStreet. Like a sheep following the pack.
Final Word:
All graphics, little substance. May be a game to consider for the 360 crowd, but we are far from dethroning the likes of Gran Turismo.GOD IS DEAD. THE N00BS TEAMKILLED HIM.

Re: Grid
That's a shame about the handling. It's sad when Gran Turismo did such a beautiful job with physics on ancient hardware, i.e. the PS1., yet modern games running on todays pc's don't match up to an 11 year old standard.

Re: Grid
It's mostly a developer's choice. Some games, esp. rallying, offer the choice between arcade and simulation physics. Even with sim physics, it's not a real full sim - take GTR 2 for example where the slightest mistake lands you in the sandbox.
