Battlefield Britain game
The BBC's recent documentary series Battlefield Britain has a java game on its website called Battlefield Acadamy which might be of interest to TGers. It is a turn based military strategy game, and for a free game its pretty good. There are four battles to play through and the first sees you defending a Celtic hill fort from invading Romans.
Gameplay features the usual pointing and clicking on units to move them into strategic positions and then clicking on nearby units to attack them. Units have strength a.k.a. health and supplies which get depleted when they move or fight. Both of these can be regained by resting the unit.
My main criticism is the time you have to wait for the computer to 'think' and make its moves and the time it takes for combat. It would have been easy to include an option to turn off the animation and just show you the result. This is a minor annoyance though and doesn't ruin an otherwise fine game.
