Re: Wall·E
I definitely plan on seeing the movie. It has been getting great reviews so far and I'm looking forward to it!
On a side note here is a guy that is building a real robotic Wall-E:

Re: Wall·E
Just got back from seeing it w/ my 4yr old and his friend, and as expected, it's a GREAT movie!! I think adults might enjoy it even more than the kids to be honest....
Unlike Cars, The Bee Movie, or other recent films, my almost-5yr-old had a lot of questions during this one and probably missed a lot. Some of the concepts were a little difficult for really young kids to understand... for example:
*SPOILER*
{
The movie takes place 700 years in the future, where humans have abandoned earth because it's basically covered in trash. (700 years is a tough concept for someone who barely knows the days of the week). For hundreds of years, humans have been floating around on hover chairs in some giant cruise-ship like spacecraft, doing nothing but eating, mindlessly blabbing and watching TV. So literally the entire race is ultra-obese... Again - He obviously didn't understand why everyone was fat or why nobody knew what dancing was... or even what dirt is....
Then, once it's discovered that earth is safe to return to, the 'autopilot' robots on the ship try to suppress the discovery and maintain the status quo. Now the kids obviously knew the bad guy robots from the good guy robots, but they clearly didn't understand the sort of 'borg' mentality...
}
anyway - all that being said, they TOTALLY loved the movie and have been playing as Wall-e and Eva ever since... they also got a free little Wall-e watch when we bought tickets.
...and for the record, I can't wait for this to come out on blueray - it's going to be stunning.

Re: Wall·E
Just got back from seeing the movie as well. AWESOME!!!
It's now my favorite Pixar or Disney movie. By far the most mature themed movie that Pixar has ever done. Where as during Finding Nemo all the kids were silent and mesmerized, I heard a few kids asking their parents questions during the movie. I'd like to say more, but don't want to spoil it. Either way, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Most of them have seen all of them. They're just too immature to admit it.

Re: Wall·E
I'd always been a Pixar fan, but after 15 minutes of Cars (on TiVo), I had to turn it off. Does it ever get any better?
The adds for Wall-E look like they recovered their muse, and I'm wanting to go see it in a theater.

Re: Wall·E
Cars was a/the Pixar low-point in my mind. The technical aspect was fine and the humor okay, but it's very difficult to really care about many of the characters. I blame part of it on the casting choice of Owen Wilson, who I can only tolerate in small doses. Also, the just-short-of two-hours runtime put me into "isn't it over yet?" mode. That's a very bad thing, since I generally prefer a long film.

Re: Wall·E
Really? Heh, I thought cars was the best to-date. Will have to see Wall-e a few thousand more times to see where it stands.

Re: Wall·E
Saw it the other day with the wife and daughter... Was very well done. Especially for a movie with very few words. Both the wife and 10 ear old daughter loved it....

Re: Wall·E
I liked Wall-E a lot, but I had to really try hard to ignore the biblical allusions.

Re: Wall·E
This movie is pretty darn good. I only had one big problem with the logic behind the tech.
Brought a tear or two to my eyes. But they where manly tears.
I didn't get any biblical allusions my self but then again my brain usually shuts down when I step into a theater.
