Re: Wall·E
Well... for instance:
a lonely guy all by himself who yearns for companionship;
a dove-like EVE;
an ark;
a Mary, who "has some babies" sans copulation, and a John;
a theme of stewardship.

Re: Wall·E
The fun thing about parallels like that is it allows you to communicate a characterization without spending your time, money, and audiences patience on exposition. The only side effect is then, people who took one (too many) philosophy classes will start mountaining your molehills.

Re: Wall·E
Nobody's "mountaining" molehills--just noting them. Andrew Stanton is a pretty outward Christian, and it shows through in some of his films. (I think I've taken about 45 philosophy classes...)

Maybe it's retaliation against Golden Compass.

I wouldn't mind retaliating against the Golden Compass. I suffered hearing the first 30 minutes of it from the next room and I think it gave me cancer. A very stupid cancer.

Yep, totally missed all that. Now that I think of it, Eve also takes takes the fruit to something actually wants to stop the directive from being implemented.
Probably some other things in their as well.
Oh well, the bible has some good stories. I don't mind them being retold in a compelling way.I’m not racists, I have republican friends. Radio show host.

Wow. I didn't get any biblical references from it at all. I think that's a stretch. You can find any kind of metaphor in almost anything if you squint hard enough.

Great film. We took my 5yo daughter to see it and she loved it. Definitely worth seeing in the theater.

I love robots. Any movie with Robin Williams is going to be fun though.

Re: Wall·E
Saw it. Loved it.
The little bit of dialogue in it made me wonder if it was added in late in development, after feedback from test audiences. Seems like the original goal was to not have any dialogue. I'll await the DVD commentary

Insomnia, One Hour Photo, Final Cut...
Frankly, I like Williams better as a dramatic actor than a comedian. In comedy, he seems to desperate to go over the top of himself. In drama, he's skilled enough to work in tiny hints of dark comedy that makes his dramatic characters seem much more belivable than many other actor's dramatic work.
