"fun" applies to these films too, just not haha fun. Fun is anything that entertains, right?

Yea that interpretation works. I really enjoyed this movie for many reasons and I think everyone should watch it.

Well I just saw the movie tonight, hind sight I can see the biblical references, but I would dare say most people would never notice them unless someone pointed them out. As for the movie in general VERY well done. Despite few words by any of the cast the movie told a very comprelling story, visually it was spectacular, and very entertaining. I would recomend Wall-e anyone.

It wasn't too bad. Pretty funny overall but I don't think it was anything to give a standing ovation to. Pixar has a pretty stellar lineup of animated movies.

Haha, that's funny. All the bible-thumpers (err-Right Wing nut jobs) had a hard time ignoring all the Leftist Marxist allusions. Wall*E is not as blatant as some SciFi-Christian mash-ups, and the allusions intentional or not carry the story. The Day the Earth Stood Still comes to mind as another good example of biblical allusions used for good story-telling...

I've seen Wall-E twice (which is a feat considering it makes up 66% of movies I've seen in theaters in the last five years), and I can't help but feel that they should not have gone the direction they went in the last fifty minutes. Don't get me wrong, I think the movie is excellent--the best Pixar has offered yet--but I think it could have been even better sans chubby cartoon people. I can just imagine the marketing drones committing mass suicide if Pixar had gone that route; "But how will we sell it to the kids?"

In summary, I think it's the best SciFi to come out of Hollywood in a looooong time.

    Re: Wall·E

Maybe it was easier for me to notice them during the movie, since I had already known that the writer/director is a Christian. I'm pretty sure he is no left wing Marxist. Here's an excerpt from a WORLD Magazine (a Christian magazine) interview:

WORLD: How does WALL•E represent your singular vision?

STANTON]: Well, what really interested me was the idea of the most human thing in the universe being a machine because it has more interest in finding out what the point of living is than actual people. The greatest commandment Christ gives us is to love, but that's not always our priority. So I came up with this premise that could demonstrate what I was trying to say—that irrational love defeats the world's programming. You've got these two robots that are trying to go above their basest directives, literally their programming, to experience love.

With the human characters I wanted to show that our programming is the routines and habits that distract us to the point that we're not really making connections to the people next to us. We're not engaging in relationships, which are the point of living—relationship with God and relationship with other people.

Oh, I know! I was just jabbing at the ridiculousness of some evangelical christian groups being against this movie because their talking heads totally missed the point and attacked it for being leftist.

Saw it and really liked it. I was afraid of it getting really heavy handed with the environmental aspect of the movie but they balanced it pretty well. I will have to watch it again to be sure but I think Wall E is one of my favorite movie characters and he doesn't even talk.
