Why would you even be comparing Crysis to FarCry2?
They are by completly separate devs and publishers, and Farcry 2 has no stupid aliens or mutants.
I think you need to read up more on the game.

Just comparing my expectations and hopes. I followed Crysis pretty heavily for a few months then really got upset when it came out. I love the direction FC2 is going and how it seems like it'll play, so I'm doing myself a favor and not getting my hopes any higher than they should be lol!

Believe me man when I say no one was more let down than me about Crysis. I am part of a mod team working on a realistic Tac. Shooter for Crysis, and I only played through Crysis once. Tried the multiplayer for about 5 mins., and haven't been back.
The game doesn't even go in my drive except for mod testing.

Heh, I know, I'm waiting for the day you guys can show us more of OE, the thought and idea behind it sounds awesome. I sadly think I'll get warezone or whatever they're calling the 2nd Crysis game, just simply for something to play when I'm bored. I'm hoping it deals a whole lot less with the aliens.

I'm really interested in FC2 and the fire and stuff and how it'll deal with things growing back if you return to the area later on.

I have a feeling it deals just as much if not more with aliens. I don't think it has any good Human/Human fighting, the only halfway decent part of Crysis.

And as for OE, we are getting close to a major milestone

I can say no more.

I loved FarCry and updated my PC to play it. I played single player over and over and had a lot of fun. I didn't think I would like a fps game but the graphic was just to much to resist. I then tried out multi-player and enjoyed that then got into COD/UO and then found TG. So yea I have a love for FarCry and will buy the new one when it comes out. I didn't like the non-people part so much but in the end game I found out that you could shoot the guy in the crouch to end the game and that was a hoot.

Do you guys recommend playing the first Far Cry? Yes, I know there is no direct story link between the two games, but I was wondering if it was still worth a play a few years later. I tried doing HL1 a few months ago but it was just basic in the graphics department to enjoy. I know Far Cry is a lot better, but it came around before I was into PC gaming. So, still worth ten bucks on Steam?

Also, I will definitely be giving Far Cry 2 a try.

Actually, UBI is supposed to be giving away FARCRY 1 for free. You have to watch some ads when you install it or something to pay for it (nothing is free) but it would save you $10 to watch a couple short ads.

I tried that whole free thing and from what I could gather after searching for a while was that it was supposed to be for US residents only. However, since it was hard for Ubisoft to control who downloaded the free version they decided to completely shut it down. When I tried the free thing it gave me a message saying something along the lines of the free version being shut down.

I lol'd a bit when I heard "Barra Barra" used on that trailer. I caught a lot of flak for using that song on a video I made of COD4. Tons of people saying I'm an arabic jihadist with a s**t taste in music.

Well, it looks visually pleasing, but I would rate the gameplay in the preview with a big yawn and a "so what?".

Hopefully there will be some good mod for this game, because I've been pretty bored since I stopped playing OGR...
