Well you're all entitled to your opinions, but I will enjoy my terrible diablo 3 and overrated Starcraft 2 (with a dash of Spore) for years to come while you wait for something revolutionary.

Goodness. Was just discussing D3 with a friend at DePaul a few weeks back. We had both thought we might never see D3.

Since it is coming out, I plan on getting it.

I repeat, looks like a fun game... I WILL be getting it. But, odds are against D3 being any kind of groundbreaking CLASSIC. It's more then likely gonna be just another game that gets old quick.

And yeah, gamers pile-on games like Halo, Bioshock, etc. (and make HUGE amounts of money for devs) But, in the end they all die with a whimper... only making an imprint culturally for the few fleeting moments of over-hyped media they get.

I don't know if theres any hardcore D2 guys on here, but when I watched my friends play, All I saw was hackers and cheaters ruining the gameplay.

I am looking forward to it. I have become a loot whore as of late. Damn Titan Quest.

As for Blizzard's games. SC2 disappoints me to no end. CoH and DOW1 not even to DOW2 slaughter that game on too many levels.

Yup I will be getting it for sure better start getting the ol mouse finger in shape for this baby.

As for what I get out of the Diablo series is the character evolution. The talent tree along with the special abilities along with the wide variety of magic weapons is what makes it so much fun in my opinion. You can make two of the same class and they can be completely different in game play. That is what is so much fun for me I like that I can create such different styles of character

QFT. Though Halo had a lasting impact, but not a good one - it was the posterchild for bringing 'mainstream gaming', ie: the people who never gave a damn about gaming in their life suddenly were buying Xbox's calling themselves gamers. And all they want are formulaic, repetitive action games with explosions.

The videos I've seen are just more Diablo, which I find very disappointing. Don't screw with what works is all very well and good, but I've already got DII and I'm not interested in shelling out more money for another expansion pack, so I'll just be over here in my corner with Dwarf Fortress and Mount and Blade.

When I hear the complaints about Blizzard games and their quality I can't help but think about somebody that complains about a fine restaurant.

"Yes the food was delicious and presented beautifully. Yes the service was excellent and I never wanted for anything. Yes the overall experience was simply delightful. But the place sucked because all they had was food and drink! For gods sake can't we get something new?!?!"

Well put El Gringo Grande. Blizzard is constantly setting the bar and instead of great job some users have to find something they can hate and then just stick with it.
