Re: Post Secondary Institutions
Brain, is there a particular flavor of science you want to specialize in? MIT is mainly an engineering school, and I don't think of it as a science place, although it still excels at that. Knowing what kind of science you want to do would help narrow the possibilities.
Even though the actual undergrad curriculum might not be that great for a given field, undergrads still get used as cannon fodder for graduate research, so you'd have that to show on your resume after graduation.Dude, seriously, WHAT handkerchief?

Re: Post Secondary Institutions
Things must have changed since I was a kid, then. Those were the core undergrad classes at MIT, and I think they were used as "bozo" filters to weed out those not cut out for a science and engineering future. (At the time, MIT was heavily over-subscribed. The CS department even more so, and they used a LISP course as their bozo filter.)

Like I said, I'd prefer the physical sciences, such as chemistry, astronomy, physics, and of course you can refine that down futher, but anything under that umbrella is good.
