CD Projekt To Sell "Good Old Games" DRM-Free

This sounds like good news to me. A company is going to start releasing a bunch of older classic games that are DRM free, and you can redownload and do what ever you want with them.

    More info here:

    http://kotaku.com/5023950/cd-projekt...games-drm+free

    And their site is here

Too bad the beta is just about to start.

Apparently I am their focus group. That's a hell of a line up they've got there, and I'd shell out for most of those games. Or at least the ones I haven't carefully retained since their original release.

If they can make all the classic LucasArts games run on current systems well, then I'm there! And Fallout? AWESOME! MDK was also a fantastic game

I want Armor Alley (Rescue Raiders when it was on Apple II). And Carrier Command from the Amiga.

And bring back Tribes 2. (For those interested in a weekly T2 scrim, PM me. My team organizes one on Sunday evenings.)

I was able to get Full throttle working on my machine using ScummVM. Im trying to find a copy of Monkey island though.

Ah yeah! The Monkey Island series was fantastic! Also, back in the day Sierra made some good adventure games such as the Space Quest series and the King's Quest series. I was sad to see the whole point and click adventure genre lose so much popularity. Some more of my fav's include Sam & Max, definitely Full Throttle, the Dig, Loom (I actually still have my original cd!), Indiana Jones on the Amiga, Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle. I could go on and on. Memories

There seems to be a sort of minor resurgence of that kind of game going on. At least, there is an episodic Sam and Max game for offer on Steam. I can't attest to the quality, but they've put out about twenty episodes so far, so maybe they're doing it right.

This is seriously a good move - I really would like to play Fallout 1 and 2 and this looks like a good option!

Hell, I'd shell out for Freespace2 a second time.
