Peter Weller as an Adventurer/Brain Surgeon/Physicist/Crime Fighter/Rock Star. How can you beat that? It had two types of aliens, Buckaroo's compadres...the Hong Kong Cavaliers, a love story, a great twist involving Orson Welles, and saving the world from destruction. Also starred John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum, and Christopher Lloyd.

It bombed at the box office, but I loved it when I was a Junior in H.S. and just showed it to my kids this year and they thought it was a hoot too. My 9 year old has probably watched it 5 times this year.

Buckaroo Banzai: "Tell him yes on one and no on two."
Mission Control: "Which one was yes, go ahead and destroy Russia... or number 2?"

That is a great movie. Because it is obscure I would recommend every body see it.

    The Departed [Crime Drama]

The Juxtaposition of Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon's characters throughout the movie is excellent, along with the directing and the characters.

I just watched this last week, TiVo'd from I think the Independent Film Channel. Wonder film.

It's referenced in World of Warcraft. There's an area in Thousand Needles with a racetrack on salt flats, and a mountain to the south. Leading up the mountain is a set of tire tracks that stop abruptly. Go to the other side of the mountain range, just north of Gadgetzan, and you'll see the tracks coming out of the side of the mountain and stopping at a smoking wreck.

I hadn’t seen this movie yet. Bern’s post made me rent it and then go grab the book.

When I watch a movie based on a book I usually try and read it either before or after. In this case I read the book after I watched the movie. Hal Moore (Lt. Col at the time) and Joe Galloway (photographer) wrote the book. All told…it’s a good book, but not an easy read. It is not in what I’ll call a true narrative form. In other words, it doesn’t read like a story. Instead, it’s a collection of personal accounts taken from just about everybody who was on the scene…including some of the soldiers from the other side. What I did notice is that every key, memorable, scene from the movie…especially those with Sam Elliot’s character (Sgt Major Plumley) is very accurate with the personal accounts in the book.

Very good movie. Pretty good book. Usually it’s the other way around for me.

    Re: Favorite Movie?

    Where to start...

Memento - Are you ever going to see a film like that again?

Matrix Trilogy - mind-blowing in every sense of the word. Emotional, gripping, tense, and visuals beyond comparison.

Godfather films - My dad's favourite film(s), been hearing that since I was about 6, then watched the 1st 2 recently. Quite simply worth the wait. A complete masterpiece, Brando as Don Vito is just brilliant.

Goodfellas - Tarantino wishes he could make films like this, but fails.

Alien and Predator - (the 2 different films AVP was the biggest load of bull I've ever seen) horror at its best, SAW can kiss my @$$

Rush Hour - Not the best, but a classic for me personally.

Leon was a great film, no doubt, Collateral (Cruise, Mann) also was a great Hitman film.

Anyone like cheesy awesomeness? Go rent the film Speed Racer for Blu-ray, the visuals are like nothing you've ever seen, I can assure you of that, and its surprisingly emotional.

Written by the guy who wrote Usual Suspects it also packs an All-star well some star cast. BY THE WAY - BEST OPENING EVER!!! starring Sarah Silverman.
Saw this recently, very unique film, pretty awesome, that opening is just legend.
    Anger is a gift - Malcolm X
