That was a pretty good write up and It would work if companies had the nuts to do it.

    Gamers Bill of Rights

    http://www.stardock.com/about/newsitem.asp?id=1095

Stradock got it right with this.

    The Gamer's Bill of Rights:

Gamers shall have the right to return games that don't work with their computers for a full refund.
Gamers shall have the right to demand that games be released in a finished state.
Gamers shall have the right to expect meaningful updates after a game's release.
Gamers shall have the right to demand that download managers and updaters not force themselves to run or be forced to load in order to play a game.
Gamers shall have the right to expect that the minimum requirements for a game will mean that the game will play adequately on that computer.
Gamers shall have the right to expect that games won't install hidden drivers or other potentially harmful software without their consent.
Gamers shall have the right to re-download the latest versions of the games they own at any time.
Gamers shall have the right to not be treated as potential criminals by developers or publishers.
Gamers shall have the right to demand that a single-player game not force them to be connected to the Internet every time they wish to play.
Gamers shall have the right that games which are installed to the hard drive shall not require a CD/DVD to remain in the drive to play.

They should drop the "to demand" and "to expect". Those just sound like weasel escapes. I mean, we already have the ability to demand and expect. It's the fact that our expectations aren't being met that's the problem.

    Re: Gamers Bill of Rights

not this again.............why is there a need for a gamer's bill of rights? Even if it is just a joke.

For the first one, save the receipt.
For the second one, maybe i'm a "noob" gamer, but when has a game not been released completely finished?
For the third one, this is becoming more about whining, did a nagging wife or girlfriend write this?
For the fourth one, dude, go outside there are no aliens that will abduct you.
For the fifth one - get more RAM and if you were such a gamer wouldn't you already have a "L33t system"?
And for the others, its all just whining jargon, the four fathers of the United States would slap this person silly, and knock some sense into him. And i'm just curious but is it really soooo hard to keep game in your cd-rom/dvd-rom drive? seriously, dude get outside and interact with people.
