Re: TG TV ~ live broadcasting thru xfire
Great. Does Xfire support ArmA?
When I get my new PC together I might broadcast TG ArmA server.

Re: TG TV ~ live broadcasting thru xfire
Well, I'm broadcasting right now but there must be a glitch because my broadcast is mixing with someone elses cast who is playing an MMO. It's really weird, it flips between BF2 and LOTR or something lol.

As soon as I stopped broadcasting only the LOTR came though. Then I restarted broadcast and refreshed page and it seems to be working

Re: TG TV ~ live broadcasting thru xfire
I didn’t get a chance to say it last night silver because of the crash, but thanks again for broadcasting and thanks for letting non TG’ers like myself watch. Very inspiring to watch even for someone like me who couldn’t squad lead their way out of a paper bag.
Hope to see you on the battlefield soon (well only if you are on my side that is)…..

Sorry, don't have ARMA, otherwise I would try. Xfire's real simple and fast to install and setup, give it a shot!

As long as you set up everything through Xfire, you can broadcast any game you are playing. Ive seen people broadcasting everything from BF2 to Guitar Hero 3. Check out the streams at this link...

XFire doesn't support all games, however the ones they do not are usually fairly old ones, e.g. When my cousin's on C&C RA2 his status appears as normal (not showing the game).
ArmA should be fine though, XFire supports most games of the last 5 years or so.

Re: TG TV ~ live broadcasting thru xfire
For those experimenting with this, here's the benefit of my experience,
first see this post
For broadcasting I change my game settings;
> screen res at max for my screen (set in desktop shortcut) (screen res is the key to the best visual clarity for viewers) *pic*
> lower game detail from high to med and turn lighting stuff low/off (so frames rates hit is acceptable to still play) *pic*
> lower game sound volumes to 35% (so voices are loader than gamesounds for viewers) and lower my transmit to 79% (as otherwise my voice break up in broadcasting) *pic*
> xfire video capture set to half size and 25 fps (apparently video capture settings interact with broadcasting settings) *pic*
> Broadcast in med quality (my testing shows med quality is actually better than high and reduces fps less than high) *pic*
> A quirk of my soundchip is that I have to unmute my mic in desktop for my viewers to hear me, this is like when recording videos with fraps *pic*
The default broadcasting channel is
http://www.xfire.com/live_video/ + your xfire username
e.g. http://www.xfire.com/live_video/explodingsilver/
Your mic is open constantly to your xfire viewers, so no swearing !

Re: TG TV ~ live broadcasting thru xfire
I hope this gets optimized more for other games. I tried it in BFV even on lowest settings and it brings me down to 1 fps but I can do in BF2 on low settings with about 30 fps

Re: TG TV ~ live broadcasting thru xfire
In reference to using this for TGU. I considered using this for my Commander module (2142) today but the quality was just too low. Possibly for other modules quality isn't as big a deal.
Also when I am using this ingame my ping as though in a pattern will go up and down from a little over normal (110 to 135-140) up to over 1000. Anyone else expeirencing this. My ingame fps seems to be ok as long as I drop the settings to medium.
