So far, its pretty sweet. Gonna have to tweak visual settings so that it runs better as playing on the TG server at 20 FPS really isn't going to make people want to watch me! I'd say the performance hit is slightly more than FRAPs, but not too bad.

I did some experiments with the help of Bigeye giving me viewers feedback

screen res 1028*768, xfire detail = not broadcasting, my ingame FPS = 98
screen res 1028*768, xfire broadcast detail = Low, my ingame FPS = 67, viewers rating of video visual quality = 2 (low no. to high, higher the better)
screen res 1028*768, xfire broadcast detail = med, my ingame FPS = 65, viewers rating of video visual quality = 5
screen res 1028*768, xfire broadcast detail = high, my ingame FPS = 60, viewers rating of video visual quality = 3
screen res 1440*900, xfire detail = not broadcasting, my ingame FPS = 95
screen res 1440*900, xfire broadcast detail = med, my ingame FPS = 40, viewers rating of video visual quality = 7
screen res 1440*900, xfire broadcast detail = high, my ingame FPS = 25, viewers rating of video visual quality = 6

conclusion, use xfire broadcast detail of medium with the highest screen res you can

Here are 3 screen shots with the map zoomed (3 settings)
This gives a good idea of the viewers experience of streaming, its youtube quality

I got my text chatting working again

The text i see is actually a chat room in my name that my viewers join if they click 'comment on video'
This means that scroll lock + X means the text comes up and I can read it at my own pace and reply with text if I want

When i said I see it for two secs, i do it pops up on bottom right for 2 secs, but now i can choose to read it all if i want, so text chat is on

There's a push pin on all the windows when you hit ScrLck-X... you can keep the clock, FPS, and chat all on the screen permanently while you play if you push the pin in (top-right).

The only thing I'd like to see is who's currently viewing. It just says "2 players viewing"... no names.

haha yeah, i ask people to type something up with 'comment on video' and then they join my channel and i see the names. otherwise it feels like i've invited people to spy on me !!

Hi Silver I was one of your voyeurs last night and as always it was great to watch the master at work.

Oh in one of your earlier posts you said ‘you don’t need xfire, just click this link’ (sorry I can’t put the link in as I haven’t posted 15 times as yet) but I think the ‘Comment on video’ bit requires xfire because it uses xfire own chat client.

That is correct. You can watch the video without xfire. But if you click on "Chat about this live video" it will need xfire. If xfire isn't allready running it will start automatically.
