I'm surprised the Tucson Heart Hospital can't do that sort of procedure. Either way, the Mayo Clinic is supposed to be the best hospital in the state. At least you don't have to worry about the quality of medical care he will receive.

Every day is a gift. I hope your dad has many more to experience. I'll send positive energy on Thursday. Best of luck.

Good luck. My father would not be here if it were not for heart surgery that he underwent five years ago. Modern medicine FTW.

I have a close friend that is a doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. They are definitely elite when it comes to cutting edge procedures.

Best of luck from my family to yours. Keep us updated.

Well we are breathing a big sigh of relief as my Dad has made it through surgery. They did a double bypass while they were in his chest and the HeartmateII is working properly. They will not wake him up until tomorrow and then that will begin the healing process.

I would like to personally thank all of you who have offered their prayers and positive thoughts our way. I consider all of you a friend!! that is the best I can do since I can't give any +Rep to anyone

My grandma had a bypass, and my aunt had a pace maker installed as well as a double bypass. I am glad he made it through.

I'm glad to hear the surgery went well, Drizz. He's had a rough road so let's hope it's smooth sailing from here on out.
