    Thursday is the day. Well at least for my family

    Well this coming Thurs is the day that my family will have it's future decided as my father is going in for open heart surgery. He will be having the LVAD Heart MateII installed in his sternum. My Dad suffers from cardiac myopathy He has also had 2 different bouts with cancer the most recent was a bout with Colon Cancer. Because of his cancer he is not eligible for a transplant and this LVAD is essentially the evolution of the Jarvik heart. He will be the 7th person in the state of AZ to have this procedure done. It is pretty scary but this is the only chance he has left to lease another 5-8years of high quality of life.

    So on Thurs if you have a minute I would appreciate any positive thoughts or prayers for the success of this procedure. My family has been through a lot and we could use a positive result. Thanks in advance and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask and I will be more than happy to answer them the best I can.

    Sounds like you have indeed been through more than anyone should have to. My thoughts are with your dad Driz. Hope he comes out of the surgery like a champ.

    Mayo Clinic is the only facility in the state that can do this procedure
