Thumbs up Re: Ford introduces car-limiting MyKey for worried parents

    Good idea.
It would be okay with me once i can drive
At least you can go 80...
My brother was going 125 on our way to long beach a few years ago o.O
And i see why parents dig it alot
Why would you want your kid going 100+ in a 2 ton metal coffin?
    I wouldn't...
But hell when I'm there cars will drive themselves!

    Edit:
    Leave the presets no customization
    Why?
Most kids are better with computers then their parents
(except for most of you I imagine)
    And password?
No, my mom uses the same password for EVERYTHING
    And i know it

    Done

I like the idea and I am sure that some parents out there (not necessarily from TG ) will benefit from this and hopefully reduce fatalities or accidents while driving.

I personally learned to drive on a dingy '96 dodge stratus that my parents first bought when we moved to North America back in '98 so I know how to limit my stereo and drive safely.

When you pull up next to someone who is shaking windows three blocks away with top 40 Rap songs you have a legitimate reason to put on your ear protection, pop in Beethoven's Third, and crank the radio up to 11. Because 11 is louder than 10.

Quick update just posted a few mins ago, out of the Detroit auto show:

    Detroit 2009: Ford demos MyKey

I have to say, I really don't think it is that limiting to a teen, except maybe the set radio volume level. And I like the no seatbelt=no radio idea.

Stoop and you'll be stepped on; stand tall and you'll be shot at.

I'd prefer no seat belt = no start.

I would go with Richard Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra".
    Dude, seriously, WHAT handkerchief?

snooggums' density principal: "The more dense a population, the more dense a population."

Iliana: "You're a great friend but if we're ever chased by zombies I'm tripping you."
