Re: I thought I was a geek.
yea...It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule," he writes. "Not bad considering I'm looking at it like it's a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft."
Like yachting, perhaps. And despite the downturn in the economy, Prepared can't wait to get his hands on the upcoming Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

Re: I thought I was a geek.
Mom and dad are still supporting his habits?? I know I get addicted to some games but if i get that bad again then it is time for me to take time off. Such as I did with PR, when I spend more time on the computer than with my family it is time for some changes in my life, such as getting one.

I can’t say I admire his lifestyle in fact I find it pathetic. One less person competing in the job market so It kind of works out for us working class folks.

Re: I thought I was a geek.
Isn't the appeal of WoW to play with friends or a clan? He has removed all the multiplayer elements from the game. He has essentially paid to create his own single player RPG

Re: I thought I was a geek.
Good god...$5711.xx. I could have used that for tuition, books, a new car (or just a car since I don't own one), pay off my mounting college debts, buy computer parts, donate to charity, etc.It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule...
Then again, he's probably one of those rich kids here at DePaul with a new 5 series BMW, wads of 100s in his wallet, and too much free time for WoW.
