Re: Goldeneye Source Beta 3 Trailer
That looks like a lot of fun. Teamwork or not, that would be a great way to unwind after spending a few hours staring at threatening rocks and creeping through virtual undergrowth in ARMA. I'm happy to see that you can do the mid air detonation with remote mines. My brother used to hate that thing. Any chance of making the explosions hang in place for 5-10 seconds as in the original? It seems bizzare compared to modern games, but the weird, lingering explosives were a distinctive part of the game and I'd sort of miss them if they weren't there.

Re: Goldeneye Source Beta 3 Trailer
Goldeneye-style explosions almost made the cut for this release; but there was a bit of PEBCAK lingering in one of the programmer's officies. Apparently after getting hats to function properly (except for a hitbox bug that was promptly discovered by the weapons/damage guru and immediately fixed) the programmer forgot how listening-to-the-designers works and made a complete mess of his explosions code. It looked decent enough when one player throws one explosive, but as soon as it got into actual gameplay, the things being done wrong leads to server crasiness, so that feature is bumped to Beta 4.

Re: Goldeneye Source Beta 3 Trailer
Needs an oddjob, last time I played I didn't get to use him. As it is now it is VERY twitchy, but the auto-spawn is fun, you get some hectic games in there. Beta looks MUCH closer to the original though, very nice, and boo to all the body armor camping I saw lol.

I know there are a load of mirrors prepared, they all should be on the front page in one hour.

Re: Goldeneye Source Beta 3 Trailer
I have to say it looks good but wow is it fast paced. It almost scares me!
It amazes me that this game STILL has a following, certainly well deserved but still impressive.
