Re: How did you discover |TG|?
Joining random large servers in BF2. This one had the novel rule that you had to be in a squad shortly after joining and had to follow the directives of the SL. Imagine a game that benefits from teamwork, being played that way. What a novel idea!

Re: How did you discover |TG|?
I first found it when I was playing 2142 a loong while ago. This is years ago. I was looking for information on the unlocks in the game, trying to decide which branch to go through (I have an unexplainable fear of making an irreversible decision I will regret later), and found several topics here discussing the unlocks, the pros and cons. I didn't go on any TG servers, I didn't register on the forums, I just came across it and was impressed by the quality of the information.
Some time later, I got my hands on a copy of BF2. I played it (vanilla) for quite some time, then I started looking through the various mods. I came across PoE2, and after playing it for several weeks, I kept coming back to Tactical Gamer. It was the only server where teamwork was a big role in games, where people used VOIP, and squad leaders were competent. I also absolutely loved the script that kicked people for not being in squads. I remember spending up to 10 minutes constantly refreshing server data until the number of players went to 61.
I found other mods, and I kinda bounced back and forth between half a dozen mods, including PoE2, PR, Sandbox, FH2, and some more. I soon started to really like PR (the days of .6), it consumed most of my gaming time. I also soon noticed that I enjoyed playing on Tactical Gamer's server much more than any other servers for the same reasons that I liked the PoE2 server. Teamwork, more-than-competent squad leading, and a willingness to help eachother. I started to play on TG exclusively, registering on the forums after a particularly good round under Sonic's leading.|TG-XV| Waldo_II

Re: How did you discover |TG|?
i played wow back in 2005... and a friend in game asked me to come do a UBRS (dont ask) run with him and some people from this Tactical Gamer guild... i liked how easy runs were with them due to strong cooperation and how mature everyone was (wow has a bit of a 12 year old mentality to alot of the players)... after a month of playing with them, Luna asked me to join TG so i did, and tho i dont play WOW anymore... i have been around and an SM near to the day i joined... currently play CSS and EVE

BF2 vanilla, then Tacmod... PoE, PR, then migrated over to ArmA. Solely due to the quality of the community here.

Re: How did you discover |TG|?
I found out about while playing on a public BF2 server, Bommando was leading the squad I was in, and another 2 TG players was there. It was the most fun I had playing that game up to that point, so I sought out this site, and TG servers.
So... In light of my own experience I find the best way to recruit new TG members is to go out onto the public servers and play TG style. It's not what you know,

Re: How did you discover |TG|?
Drunken post so please excuse any misspellings or general tomfoolery.
This dirty prick* named Mantis kept kicking my butt in Dreamcast games and then later PC games. Years later, I finally came up with the funds to replace my old Athlon 850/GeForce 3 rig with something more modern and the aforementioned jerk* talked me into playing BF2. He showed me the ropes on some public servers and then took the training wheels off here at TG. I was a SM for a while (and was going to renew before it became apparent that the state budget is going to cost me my job for next year. Should have listened to Ferris) but let the membership lapse when money became tight. I've been here ever since although I don't play games as much as I should anymore.
*He is really a decent guy, I swear. I just have about ten years of pent up rage from him kicking my butt in online games.

Re: How did you discover |TG|?
Project Reality.
Been around TacticalGamer's PR server for about 2 years now (on and off).
Then I bought ArmA last year, only so I could play on the TG ArmA server. I've been wearing the tag ever since.
Then a couple months ago I thought it was time for me to pull a SupportingMembership and the rest is history.
