Re: Another US Civil war?
So far as I can find on the internet, Sordavie, Gates has basically said that work will continue until the F-22 quota reaches 187, but production of F-22s will cease after that (with the F-35 production concurrently being stepped up).
However, will Congress allow it? The Bush administration tried to squash the F-22 program, but Congress didn't allow it then.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blah blah blah.

Re: Another US Civil war?
The F-22 is a pure MONEY MAKER for the US Gov. How many F-15's and F-16's did we sell to our allies?
The most advanced multi-purpose fighter ever designed, with no good comparison.
YEAH! Let's just get rid of it...

Re: Another US Civil war?
It is? But we don't export the F-22. How are we making money off of it? We could buy almost 3 F-18 Super Hornets for each F-22.

Re: Another US Civil war?
That's Gates' problem with the system: the exorbitant cost for a weapon platform we may never need to use using cash we could buy less-expensive but perfectly adequate equipment with.

Blah blah blah.

Re: Another US Civil war?
Moreover, even if we did sell the F-22 to our allies, how many of them could afford a great deal of them? To make lots of money like we did with the F-15 and F-16, we need to sell these things in volume. We're not going to make a lot of money by selling 10 of them here and there.

Re: Another US Civil war?
Slow down and get your grammar and spelling correct. We'll assume that if you can't even be bothered to get that correct, then you probably haven't bothered to give much thought to what you write.
