    Hello All

Well, I haven't been into realistic games for quite a while...mainly because I couldn't find a good one. I started about 5-6 years ago on PoE (I can't believe it has been that long, actually) which made me interested in more realistic gaming. Moved on to PoE2 and Insurgency, after that. I ended up quitting both. The former because I just couldn't stand EA's abandonment of BF2, and also because I could never get BF2 to run well enough that it was in a playable state. The latter because the dev team and community seemed to get crappier and crappier every day.

So, what is the mainstay of realistic gaming today? ArmA? I was going to pick up ArmA a while ago, but some people told me to save my money and wait for ArmA 2...which was then postponed. I've also had my eye on DCS: Black shark, although it seems to have been postponed state-side. What's popular among TG today?

I must say though, when I played PoE (original and 2), my favorite server was always TG's. There was actually teamwork on the servers, which amazed me.

I offer my thanks to anyone who actually read my thread of introduction.

Well for BF I would have to say PR (Project Reality Mod) is what your looking for as for ArmA many are still playing that as well if not more than usual and CSS is growing extremely well too.

Welcome to TG! I agree with the above...Project Reality is a great mod for BF2...worth a look if nothing else. Also you might want to look at operation flashpoint 2.

Also TG has a PR forum. Under the BF2 thread.

    Due to the fact that
    a) You can get the game for dirt cheap on some online retailers (paid 10$ for mine on Ebay). Plus, considering the amount of time you'll pour into this game, its very well worth it.
    and
    b) ArmA TG has never been so active as of right now. There is always people on the server, we are running weekly events open to anyone, and the ArmA TG community (and just like the rest of the TacticalGamer Community) is just pure awesome.

I say that, even tho ArmA II is just around the corner, with the fun factor and the price at which you can get the game, ArmA I is still a bang for your bucks.

I used to be big into PR, too. I'm just not going to touch BF2, it isn't worth the trouble for me anymore...

Xmaster, thank you. Perhaps I will purchase...

If you want to have a nice taste of what is going on at ArmA TG, I suggest you read some of the After Action Reports in the AAR subforums (http://www.tacticalgamer.com/armed-a...ction-reports/)

I have made a few, and most of the time, I post pictures with my AARs.
Just to point out a few:

There is also some videos out there (especially on vimeo.com ...unless they've been deleted)

I personally think that this is the best sneak-peek you could get on how we play and how we get things done in ArmA.

Cheers, hope to see you on the server pretty soon.

Well welcome to TG, I hope you can find what you are looking for in realistic games. Put your feet up relax, for there is nothing more I can say that has not already been spoken.
