To my Friends please reads only to know my Father
April 25, 2009
I wanted you to know, on a sad note and with tears in my heart, some of the things I have been going through these pass few weeks:
My Dad has just passed away March 31, 2009.
The work I have had to do on his behalf has been mentally stressful and it seems that someone has been beating me physically down at the same time. Working with the Medical Examiner, VA, Social Security, and Medicare offices for my mother’s benefit, as they have to be changed with a death in the family. I must say if you haven’t been through it, it’s the hardest thing you will ever do in your life!!!! This was caused by several reasons: first, my best friend is gone. Second, trying to get help to get the Social Security and VA issues resolved. Third, the worry of getting time off from my company without losing my job to take care of these three major government programs.
My Dad and I did everything together from throwing cast nets together out front in the gulf for mullet to just Fishing out in the gulf at Cat Island and Ship Island on over night trips, and then in land we would rabbit hunting the swamps of Mississippi.
My Dad was a WWII Veteran. He was in the Air force with a B 17 squadron. His rank was "Sergeant York". He lost a 1/3 of his lower spine during the war but was able to over come most of the pain by increasing his muscle by working that area of his back. His last stay at the end of the war was Hawaii, then home to my Mother. They were married for 66 years on June 16, 1943.
I’m very proud of my father and only wish to hold half a candlestick to what he was on this earth. In our Church he was a Bishop twice served, which gave him opportunities to help numerous people as we did during Hurricane Camille and Katrina.
Thank you for lettting me share this with you God Bless and good Games Guys

York,
Im sorry for your loss. I too went thru basically the same experience. Your dad seemed like a great man that helped many people and also raised a standup guy. Hang in there cause it does get easier at least it did for me.

Sorry for your loss. I don't know you York but I can tell you that that's a day I dread. I already saw my dad flatline on an emergency table and get the paddles several times right in front of me so in a way I already lived through it but I feel that I'm still not prepared, and never will be, for his death.
You have very good memories so your dad will always live on through those. Just make sure to pass that on to your kids. Take care.
