Re: Official Drink of 2009 Contest!!
That does sound like it might be really good scratch.
By the way, where I said "hot water" in the instructions, it was supposed to be "hot cider" but I typed water for some odd reason. Could be, of course, that I was already 3 hot buttered rums deep when I posted my recipe!

Call them bum wines, street wines, fortified wines, wino wines, or twist-cap wines.
Whatever you call these beverages for the economical drunkard, this page explores the top five.

Re: Official Drink of 2009 Contest!!
Ferris, good recipe. Made a couple small cup w/o whip cream.
This might be a local thing but our local Wal-Marts have a real apple cider on the shelves right now called "Zeigler's Autumn Harvest" that makes this recipe really good.
I think a good apple cider is best. The kind you can't see more than a quarter inch into. Using the typical mass market "ciders" (they are really more of a juice) is ok but not the best.I’m not racists, I have republican friends. Radio show host.

Re: Official Drink of 2009 Contest!!
The neighbors stopped by today for sledding so I broke this one out. That was about 3pm, and 3 batches later I woke up somewhere I didn't expect. YMMV.

I bet the recipe above would be awesome with Gran Marnier instead of cognac!

Re: Official Drink of 2009 Contest!!
I loved a drink I had Christmas. Take a large cup and half and half Gin and Sprite. You will be buzzed on one cup and trashed on the 2nd. I couldn't drink the third because I threw myself out of the backdoor glass screen and woke up the next day in the backyard with glass shards all over....By god that night was awesome.
