Your method doesn't work. Maybe my punch card is wrong...

Hmm, odd. Maybe this has affected some people differently to others.

    Re: Private Message Encryption Broken

If we can get info on what type of encryption was used before, we can decrypt important PMs. I've got a program somewhere, had to decrypt a string for my MUD before.

If it's one of the more common encryptions anyway.

EDIT: At least the ones that aren't unreversible hashes.

    ...Now you tell me

I had so many messages I didn't want to delete, but I guess this is good since my PM box was full all the time and I'm just like this sooo popular guy that everyone adores and wants to talk to...*sigh* but whatcha gonna do

Seriously though Apo, please let us know if you decide they can't be salvaged so I can finally make some space. But I did admittedly had some priceless stuff in there (Azura, you rule man) so thanks for at least giving it a go.

This was a really mean trick dude.

    Re: Private Message Encryption Broken

One might misinterpret this thread title to mean that someone had defeated the encryption used to maintain the confidentiality of PM content.

I've read it (the title) several times since you wrote it, and I never read it that way. It didn't occur to me until tonight, when I glanced past it again, that someone might read it that way.

Glad to see people are so understanding. Such a loss royally sucks.

Hey. At least this upgrade didn't screw up our CSS styling. Life could be worse.

Also, I have to say... I was reminded of that thread from back in the day when we all posted encrypted message on purpose.

Err... ya'll did. Buncha damn nerds.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.
