    Should we drink it?

We opened a decent bottle of red wine Wednesday night w/ dinner. The half full bottle got left out on the counter sans cork. It's now Friday night. Should we finish it with dinner?

Shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

It depends on the quality of the wine. Thats a pretty long time for a wine to be opened. I would guess its oxidized..

Just drink it. Don't let it go to waste. It is $8 after all. Or just drink some more alcohol beforehand, and then you won't really care what it tastes like.

Cab Sav is a red wine which you do NOT refrigerate so drink it and enjoy my friend!

When wine oxidizes, it turns into vinegar; hence, red wine vinegar. But it won't do it after just 2 days. You can make homemade wine vinegar by opening a bottle of wine and letting it sit for a few weeks.

Probably not completely, but enough to taste different. He left it uncorked the whole time which increases the chance that it will be unpleasant.

It will taste fine. DId you put the cork in to seal it off half way. The worst that could happen is it would taste a bit different but no harm to you

Like Browna says, use it to cook something nice if you're worried about the taste.

    Re: Should we drink it?

What you will typically see in oxidized wine is that there will no longer be any fruit flavors left. Your probably left with a wine that is out of balance. There will be tannins, alcohol and acidity left thats about it. It will start to taste similar to sherry.
I voted for not drinking it but you never know.
