Re: official sandwhich/sarnie/buttie/cob of TG
I nominate The Artery Clogger aka The Portable Heart Attack
Step 1. Start off with thick white bread. Sourdough or loaf italian work fine. Spread butter (not margarine, REAL BUTTER) on both sides of both pieces. Pan Fry until butter is melted in and the sides are golden brown.
Step 2. Fry Bacon. At least 4 strips. If you can get thick cut (preferably center cut), it works better. Dont discard the grease.
Step 3. In the same pan, using the bacon grease fry up your choice of other meat. I usually do a combination of things like sliced pepperoni and turkey.
Step 4. In the same pan, yet again, after discarding MOST of the grease, fry an egg.
Step 5. Layer meats, egg and your choice of cheese on the fried and buttery bread. Mayonnaise is optional, but I like it for that extra squeeze on the old cardiovascular system.
I highly recommend that you all consume at least one today.
There you have it folks. The tastiest and unhealthiest sandwich anyone can make.

Instead of mayo, I suggest Thousand Island Dressing for the Artery Clogger.

Come on.. It should be liverwurst with a raging spicy mustard!

Not sure how anyone eats Thousand Island. McD's has been trying to serve that on a Big Mac for years, while claiming it was not Thousand Island. I'm happy with Subs from Sub-Way, or Firehouse Subs.

I had cheese blintzes with lingonberry preserves and sour cream over them. I think filling inside a crepe should qualify as a sandwich.

Nah, I'd add mustard to a Reuben, goes well with sauerkraut.

Re: official sandwhich/sarnie/buttie/cob of TG
There's a nice brewery/restaurant just outside of my work called Coddington Brewery. If anyone is ever in the Newport, RI area make sure to stop by! They make one of the best Reubens I've ever had.
I like mine with corn beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island on nice thick TOASTED slices of rye bread. As an alternative, making them in those sandwich press thingies is quite spectacular.
I'm still a fan of liverwurst and spicy mustard through.

You're almost there.... Instead of toasting the rye, Ferris it (see post #46). Spread the outside of each slice with butter, yes, real actual butter (we're aware of the health risks involved here), and then pan fry the sandwich grilled cheese style, then add the Thousand Island/Russian dressing. Well, I know what I'm having for lunch.
