Re: Your favorite game of all time?
Currently, it's definitely 2142.
Somewhat nostalgically, I love(d) Super Mario 64 & Banjo Kazooie. ;-) They were the first video games I ever played. Zelda was good, too. On the PC, though, I liked Theme Hospital and the Civ series.

I still love Tribes 2. The Battlefield games were weak imitations.
Download it free and play on the Goons server:

Shooter: (Tie) Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and BF2142
Strategy: (Tie) Act of War series and Starcraft
Space Sim: (Tie) Freespace series and Freelancer
Overall favorite game thus far: Starcraft. Even after 11 years, I still play it.

Descent... not sure why someone hasn't made something in this genre since... Had all the same controls as a normal FPS, but it added Z axis strafing since you were flying. so fun.

Got to go with my childhood. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Hands down. So immense and adventurous for it's time. Nintendo 64 FTW.

Re: Your favorite game of all time?
Joust was my first arcade game I was any good at. I spent a lot of time in the mini-arcade at the MIT Student Center playing that, ca. 1980.

Zaxxon was my specialty. I noticed that the high score was really low so I saw a niche I could exploit.
