I'm surprised no has posted a thread about this yet.
Anyone tried their hand at Etrade? I recently signed up for an account. I don't really think I'll make much money as I'm just looking to make small time moves of a few shares at a time.
I'm a total newb when it comes to investing. I get the general ideas behind it but a question no one seems to want to answer is: What's the benefit of holding onto a stock? Do you get dividends or something from the company for being an investor if you keep your money with them?

I know I've seen posts about trading, but no threads dedicated to it.
