    Re: Chess?

I play chess, but the last time I tried to play online, I kept forgetting to make my move before the deadline and ended up ceding the game.

It's a game that takes concentration, so even with an email reminder I have to make time to go stare at the board for awhile and decide what to do. I find it easier just to block out a couple hours to play a whole game in one sitting.

BTW, the previous expansion of WoW, Burning Crusade, included a faux chess game that was chess only in appearance. Alice and the Red Queen played a much more realistic game than that one. It was so dumbed down that even WoW players thought it a charity event to play it. (It was an easy way to get "epic" gear.)

    Re: Chess?

I prefer chess with shorter time controls, say 30 mins or less per side with a 5 second delay for each move. But I'm willing to play correspondence chess with people. I'll sign up for redhotpawn.

What I'd really be interested in is getting a number of people to play bughouse on ICC. Anyone have experience playing that?

Speaking of Alice, has anyone played Alice chess?
