Re: GenCon '09: Who's goin?
I was going to go, but now I am going for about a week to Indiana to see my cousin get married. I think we all know that Gencon would be FUNNER, but family takes precedence, darn it. I'd try to just PRETEND to go, but my wife is sending my kid with me. Hard to really enjoy gencon with a 4 year old in tow.

Re: GenCon '09: Who's goin?
I decided not to go and save the money for buying an HDTV
I figure I'd get more done gaming-wise if I get friends together for a game of D&D anyways.

But there is nothing like con D&D games. I have a group that meets at least once a week and while we have some amazing games, there is just something about the con setting the type of folks involved that really bring out a good game.

Re: GenCon '09: Who's goin?
Speaking of cons and games, I'm reading John Ringo's "Princess of Wands", and the middle story of three involves a con with gamers, LARPers, and the usual dealer room. I'm not done with the story but it's been quite fun so far.
