Scroll down to the box at the bottom of the thread that says "Tags" and click the tag for "Food". (I added that. ) I try to tag every food-related thread to make them easy to find, so when the TG Powers That Be finally decide to give us a Mess Hall forum, it'll be easy to populate it with lots of threads.

Re: buffalo-sauce - need recommendation
ok...sorry to dig this old thread up, but being from buffalo, and having worked at a wing joint in HS i thought i would give you the recipe that we used at the restaurant.
Franks
butter (never margarine)
garlic powder
and this is the MOST important part: a touch of honey.
for milder wings: more butter, less franks. for hotter: more franks, less butter.
as for the honey: a little more than you think looks good is just about right.
mix ingredients in LARGE metal bowl, add deep-fried (never baked or grilled) wings and "toss" until evenly coated.

Re: buffalo-sauce - need recommendation
One of my high school classmates owns a couple of Subways in Texas, and he's enjoying their new Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. But googling around for reviews, I've found they've substituted Lite Ranch dressing for blue cheese, probably to hold down both cost and fat content (for the diet-sensitive). The reviews indicate that the sandwich does use Franks for the hot sauce, probably has butter in the sauce (driving the fat up and forcing them to switch dressings), and has a high sodium count.
I might get one to try out, but I'm gonna get it sans dressing, take it home, and dowse it with some Marie's chunky blue.
