Re: Stargate Universe
I have to agree, the last episode was great. It just gets better and better.

Re: Stargate Universe
The time loop episode reminds me very much of the Star Trek Next Generation episode in which Picard lives an entire lifetime in one nap, or the SG1 episode with Mitchell becoming his own grandfather to save the backup stargate as it crosses the Arctic Ocean. It was well-told but not incredibly original. The repeated references to Alien are amusing but will probably get overused and old.
I may be jaded because I've read a lot of science fiction since the late 60's and TV rarely comes close to the imagination one finds in written novels.
I'm not that big a fan of Tapping. I'm almost done with Sanctuary. It's just getting too stupid to watch. (Remember that she's a producer on that show.)Dude, seriously, WHAT handkerchief?

I agree, Sanctuary sucks. I just can not get into the show.

Re: Stargate Universe
I only made it though the first three episodes of sanctuary and dreaded each one. With SGU I can't wait until the next episode.

Re: Stargate Universe
Seriously! Telford needs to suffer some horrible fate, like using the communication stones to trade places with someone who has alien ebola. However, I do have to say that if I was Rush, I would have sat in the chair when Col. Young gave the opportunity. Worst case scenario: you die. Best case: you gain all the knowledge of the ancients, learn to fly the ship and get everyone home.

Re: Stargate Universe
I've always been a big fan of Stargate. Jack O'Neill was the best CO ever. Watching this series with hope. SG-1 obviously went a bit loose at the end. But I think they tightened up all the loose ends the best they could. Season 6 finale was awesome, no way you can top that. I love how all the series are tied together with the same history.

Re: Stargate Universe
Have to admit I just got into Stargate. I saw the movie when it first came out, but thought the idea of a TV show was dumb, so never watched it. Even though it had one of my childhood heroes MacGyver in it.
Then I was board last week, and watched the first ep. of Universe on Hulu. WOW! Watched the rest Hulu had up and decided to watch a couple of SG-1 episodes. Well crap, one thing led to another and I just finished watching all 9 seasons on Hulu, have season 10 on the way from Netflix, as well as the extra movie releases.
Bastards got me hooked
Just found this really good website too:
http://www.gateworld.net/index.shtml
Has tons of info and discussions about all the series, as well as FAQs and other goods.
Has anyone gotten the original movie on Blue Ray yet?

Re: Stargate Universe
So just as we are talking about it, Amazon throws up the massive 50 disk SG-1 complete collection for $98.00
Stargate SG-1: The Complete Series Collection 54-Disk DVD Set $98
Not a bad deal if you like the show considering you get all 10 seasons. If this was on blue ray, would make me actually consider it more. I only watched in very low def. on Hulu, so would watch it again. But it would only need like 10-15 Blueray disks or so.

Re: Stargate Universe
Same here Bamboo, I never got in to any of the other Stargate tv shows, but I do like Stargate Universe so far though. It's like Star Trek Voyager meets Battlestar Galactica.
