From what I understand, yes. I am guessing you can go in and select a few fetures you want (so like normal or hardcore,) but other than that you dont have a say on which 'server' you are in.

Re: Lack of dedicated servers and gaming
My jaw hit the floor. All that weekend, I frantically checked every few hours for a real response from IW - at least to confirm it - to get the truth out. But they didnt even care to make this a press release, or with a real DEV. They pawned such a large bullet off to some guy I never cared about.
I don't care about the beta, or coop. I never did. I REALLY liked IW and the leaps and bounds IW (and other companies, like Valve) have done for PC gaming since 2007. The Orange Box. Call of Duty 4.

I don't think SC2 and the LAN issue is really the same thing. Back in the day of Warcraft (not WoW) and SC, it was pretty typical for people just to play locally amongst their small group of friends. MANY years have passed, and playing out there on the net has become the status quo due to advancement. Similarly, FPS games and dedicated servers have been the status quo for a long time and for good reasons; however the idea of tossing out dedicated servers essentially is a step backward in both technology and social norm.
I finally signed the petition, 140618.

Re: Lack of dedicated servers and gaming
About 90% of us at Focused won't be getting MW2 because of this.
So many great games coming out around now that it was almost a relief to be given a reason not to buy this.
Borderlands, L4D2 for example.
I don't have the same sentiment about L4D as I do with MW2. I got plenty of hours of fun out of L4D. Sure, not as many as some games, but more than enough to justify the purchase. Besides, the amazing job Valve have done supporting TF2 more than mitigates any lack thereof in L4D.
I don't project the same satisfaction with MW2. 6 hours of single player doesn't cut it for me or most of the people I game with.

You should go check out the Dice forums for BFBC2, and see how many "I'm and ex cod player post they have". looks like DICE has a chance to make some money!

It looks like the sigs are beginning to slow a tad and stand at 159,000. Talk to your friends and continue to get the word out about this incentive and make sure we have ALL signed it. (32,000 strong)
