Gotta love it when the BOSS hi-jacks a thread.

Reminds me of that time we were in Las Vegas, at that hacker conference, remember? LOL

Yeah, that was great! Err, I mean, what are you talking about? I'm a professional network security consultant, not a hacker. And I would never be involved in rampant abuse and illegal distribution of ENORMOUS amounts of music, movies and games at a hacker conference.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, Bamboo pointed out that he couldn't get hotlinked images to work correctly in his latest wallpaper roundup. Here's the code he used:

    Which produces this when parsed:

Hopefully we can get this functionality back. I'd much rather have the forums able to hotlink images, than to have them automatically snatch images from linked websites, if that's what it's doing.

I've got almost all of the functionality back. The Downloads section is back in, now I just need to get it populated. Embedded media is also working properly now too.

Yeah, It looks like it's trying to auto-embed image URLs so you don't have to click on them. I'll have to look into that and figure out what's causing it and get it resolved.

Is the search feature truncated? I just did a "Find all posts" on myself and only 35 results are reported. (I'm trying to find my Felicia Day thread so I can attach a new video I found of her. Should be titled "Do you want to date my avatar?" but searching for "avatar" and "felicia" doesn't find it.)

Yes I think something is up with the Search function since I couldn't find some old posts I was looking for, but should definitely have come up judging by what I'd entered into the search bar.

Not a big deal, just a heads up.

I need to kick off a full reindex of the database for search functionality. It's going to take a long time and make the site slow, so I was holding off until I finished all the other major stuff to kick off the reindex.

I'm not familiar with the internals of DB's: Is that something you can "nice" so it runs at low priority and gives up its time slice to regular forum access while it's running?

Not to steal the answer from Apo but I don't think so. It'll automatically index new posts as they happen but to index the old it only has one speed to run at.

Yes. That's actually how I normally do it. I'll modify the nice value of the process between on/off hours. It still takes a LONG time to complete though. We have a lot of content to index.
