Re: Server Downtime - Server Upgrade - Site Upgrade
if the website had looked like this when I first went on the TG forums I probably would never have joined tbh. TG has, hands-down, the best forum layout and color scheme ever on the entire internetz. There are some other forums I frequent that have horrible color schemes that make it feel so cluttered and unorganized to me...i have to come back to TG and go into zen state. I can't wait until it goes back to the grey scheme

Re: Server Downtime - Server Upgrade - Site Upgrade
Thanks for the tip, oniell! That should be all fixed now. The SEO rewrite engine wants to use URLs like /content and /blogs and doesn't expect those folders to actually exist. Unfortunately, they existed!
I had to delete the old stuff and reactivate the SEO engine and that problem should be fixed.

Re: Server Downtime - Server Upgrade - Site Upgrade
I'm kind of hoping that it will be like some other sites have where you can pick the theme you like best.
For instance, go to :
http://slickdeals.net/forums/
Scroll down and near the bottom there is a drop down box where you can pick a theme, so if someone like minimalist, they can have it. I prefer the Midnight one.
Also, Apo, any thoughts on the ribbon comment I made? Will it be possible to have them automatically show up again? Really think it would be a big boost like it used to be. Makes you feel special, don't ya know...............

Re: Server Downtime - Server Upgrade - Site Upgrade
I actually expected to find an appearance option. First thing I looked for was a way to lose all this white, hard on aging eyes, LOL.

Re: Server Downtime - Server Upgrade - Site Upgrade
I wouldn't mind having multiple themes available, but I'll need to get one done before I can do the rest. Having a standard template with varying color schemes shouldn't be too difficult though. Certainly something I'll keep in mind!
As for the Awards system. I'm going to give it a shot! Hopefully it will work better on this more powerful server than it did on the previous one. I still have my custom code available that turned them all into signatures.
Tell me about it. Unfortunately I'm more focused on functionality than colors, but the white is a bit too bright and too harsh. Luckily most of my work now is taking place via SSH.

I miss the old scheme (05-06), the dark green and gray was pretty cool!

Re: Server Downtime - Server Upgrade - Site Upgrade
Okay.. This is shameful in presentation, but I at least have the TeamSpeak system working in terms of being able to connect.
If you go to the http://www.tacticalgamer.com/teamspeak.php page it will let you click connect and set/reset your password. The template is 99.44% broken and it looks horrible, but TS2 isn't long for this world anyway. We will be running TS3 by sometime tomorrow and the whole integration system will actually go out the window once that happens. It's not compatible with the new system yet so we'll be falling back to a non-integrated system.
So, if any of you encounter people trying to get into TS looking for help, point them to this post!

Re: Server Downtime - Server Upgrade - Site Upgrade
That's funny. It was one of the designs Asch and I were looking at the other night when we were talking about what to do with the new site. I was a big fan of the lighter green one too, but I think that was more 2004 era if I recall correctly.
Does anyone here remember the rusted metal theme we had with the crosshair cursors?

I'm glad I'm not the only old guy who finds the bright background uncomfortable. At least I'm not using a tube and suffering flicker, as well.
