The only thing is you need a dark room to watch TV. It works but you'll be watching in the dark. It's like a movie theater!

These fresnel projection TV kits really blow chunks. You DO get what you pay for. If you're looking for a way to get a nice big-screen TV / home theatre feel without spending the thousands of dollars for a widescreen HDTV, check out this site:

The Lumenlab projector uses real optics, a much more powereful light source, and is generally a much better solution than a fresnel lens re-projecting an image from a TV.
I've thought of building a lumenlab projector in the past, but I've already got the HDTV so I'm not in that much of a rush.
