My hometown plane. Every single one was built here about a mile from my childhood home. A-10's were in sky every day when I was a kid.
Sadly that was the last plane Fairchild produced as they closed their doors when A-10's where done beIng produced. Fairchild tried to win the Navy trainer program after the A-10 but lost out to BAE's Hawk.Tactical Gamer Content Development Manager

I've read that it's basically a gun with a plane built around it...and you can see why. Love 'em.
