Maybe you guys can help me. I am looking for a good (IE free) web forum. Anybody know if a place? It doesnt have to be pretty or anything, just as long as it works (and is free). Did I mention it has to be free?

This is something you want to administer yourself (on a server you have), or something already provided by someone else, who would give you an account and forums to manage on their server?

First of all, you might talk to Apophis and see what he can hook you up with... I don't know what you're going to use this new forum for, but if a deal can be worked out that promotes TG, you never know...

Otherwise, Delphi has always had great forums, and you can start your own forum there for free. I know that you can also pay to have them host a forum, so there must be limitations on the "StarterForum", but I don't know what they are...

Ok basically I want it for my guild so we can communicate better so we all dont have to be in the game to talk. AIM would be good, but some of us are in different time zones so its rather hard to all sign on at the same time. I figured a forum would be good, but most of them are pay unless you host it yourself, which I'm unable to do.

Like I said, I only need something small.

I will probably will talk to apo about this. Hell I dont care if he plasters the TG banners all over it, as long as I am a moderator and have basic controls (asign mods, make new forums).

For some reason, my head is telling me that I recently heard about some security hazard with phpBB. I could be wrong, though. Anyone know about this?

It is a good board though, you'll need your own webspace to host it though. I think for your purposes doing a remotely hosted forum would be better: http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Remotely_Hosted/

Thanks guys, but I dont even think I'm going to be needing this. Apo has came into contact with me. I think he's going to give me a small forum for me and my guild to use.
