Fit into what? The movie? Or the over all plot?

He's probably talking about the final scene with the Oracle and the little girl. The overall movie is already fading in my mind so I can't remember the exact dialogue, so I don't want to make an analysis.

I was trying to figure out what would happen now that theres peace, and the only thing I can really I guess at is that the machines live nice and happy on the surface growing and harvesting people.

And the Zion people live in their cave with their cubicles, and occasionally jack into the matrix and try to convince more people to leave the matrix.

But then like, there'd be people who left the matrix, and realized that dressing in shoddy clothes, eating gruel, living in a cave in a the equivalent of a large cubicle sucks and would rather go live in a machine jacked in the matrix.

And then like, Morpheus would be all like "We must save humanity!!" and then that dude who was pissed at them for blowing the EMP would be like "We must wage war on the machines!!"

Speaking of the Zion battle, while it was cool, in hindsight it was really quite ridiculous and retarded. Your crazy Eclipse, that was awesome!! I'm sure you are saying to yourself, but listen to this...

This APU or "Robot Thing": Why does it leave the user totally, TOTALLY exposed? Couldnt they have scrounged up 30 more pounds of steel or whatever and made some sort of cockpit? Lord no!! They must have this thing that rests on their crotch and they play with levers. Woo!! Also, did you notice how when that guy gave his absolutley horrible pep talk all the robot things raised their right arm, are their NO lefties in the future? Apparently not. Also, why does some random guy run out of ammo 3 minutes in, yet the lame ass leader guy has seemingly infinite ammo until the very end? Who knows!! If it were the matrix you could just make up some mumbo jumbo, but this is the supposed real world!!!

Not enough static defenses: We have no real clue on how long this generation of zioners have been living here (Assuming that all that crazy BS in reloaded is correct anyway) but they seem to be pretty well off as far as technology goes. But yet, we see about a total of 6 Guns for static defense, as in, not Robot Thing. That seems a little low to me, their shoulda been gun batteries and turrets all over the place, it should have been a freaking hailstorm of bullets.

No EMP in sight: Wtf? Every single ship is armed with one and yet there isnt even a sign of one IN Zion? Retarded!! Absolutley retarded!!!! WHY?! Seriously, why is there NO EMP in sight in zion? I dont know!!

When that big ship Niobi was flying crashed in and blew the emp, that captain jackass was pissed at them for saving the day: First off, you ungrateful ass, would you have preferred to be ripped to shreds by the legions of sentinels now, or 5 minutes from now? Well obviously now, and not 5 minutes later. Second, their, and I use this vaguely, tactical command center, was not shielded from EMP. Now, I could be a little off, but if memory serves correct do we not have shielding from EMP blasts right now? Why couldnt they have just spent some time and shielded that, and gone with the previous point of putting an EMP in Zion. Then we'd all be happy and I would be less annoyed with this whole thing!!

Now that I got that out my system...oh yea one last thing, The Wachowski brothers suck. The End.

Agreed. I remember thinking that in the theater. If you'd seen the Animatrix, they had sealed APU's (Armored?! Pfft. Personell Units) so why not in the movie? Oh well, they still looked cool :P

I believe this was explained in Reloaded. The majority of Zion's static defenses were clustered at the entrances, outside the doors. You could see them powering down the defensive network when the Neb was approaching to dock. Thats why the Machines tunneled down, to avoid the majority of the static defenses.

The failed assault on the Machines, where Agent Smith in that human guys body blew up an EMP charge early. Took out all the ships except for the Logos, Neb, and Molinjar.

If we have a nuclear war, and things regress to a Fallout situation, want to be my Military Commander?

Yeah, he was an *******. As for the non-hardned bit, obviously they had burecrats in charge of budgeting :P Take the US Navy of nowady for example. Almost NONE of the new ships the Navy has put out has hardened electronics. Why? It would cost too much (pfft), and they think that no one would be nuts enough to use Nuclear weapons.

Edit: One thing I'd like to add about the battle that I didn't like:

When the first Driller dropped through and the machines started pooring though. They all concentrated fire on the hole, and Sentinal body parts were raining down, not one getting through. That wasn't a very big hole. How did they fit enough Sentinals down there to get that MASSIVE 4 way plume of Sentinals that overcame the fire? Thats physicly impossible! It looked cool and menacing as hell, but unrealistic. Also WTF was that driller made out off? It dropped a good half a kilometer, and gets itself up without a dent? But simiple rockets take it out? Oh well, I still enjoyed it. :P

I've seen it put in an interesting light by another person:

The first movie was damn near a masterpiece because the Wachowski brothers still had something to prove. They were still virtually unknown, and needed to make a name for themselves. And they did with The Matrix. But then they got sloppy. Kinda like George Lucas

My friend asked that same question about why there is no EMPs in the city. My theory is, where they live off of machines (for water, and air, and heat, and ect) why would you want to put something that could potentially destroy all of that in your backyard? Think about it.. would you want something that could destroy the reason why you exist in your backyard? Of course not! Thats just asking for trouble.

Its the same thing with those AT-AT walkers from Star Wars. The only way a ship can take them down is to take out their legs, yet here comes Luke with his lightsaber, cuts open its belly, toss a small gernade in there, and then boom, it blows up. That makes no sense either.

you could say its unrealistic because its science fiction. they could of done a better job but they are only in it to make money from this series. the first one was actually enjoyable to watch, the second i thought could have been better and this third one i was not happy with at all. If they come out with a fourth one i am not going to see it. i might rent it but i'm not seeing it in theatres.

all i could think of when i see those things was "GOLIATH ONLINE" from starcraft. made myself LOL in the theatre... pretty akward. probably the only time i was happy during that movie.
And god said "LET THERE BE HALF-LIFE!" and so it was...

We have to! Its an online tradition!

I doubt there will be a fourth move. I'll still pick it up on DVD when it comes out for the effects alone. Sure the wrap-up of the story leaves something to be desired, but still very cool effects

I've been avoiding this thread, only just now got to see the movie in theaters. All I will say now is that IMHO it was the worst movie of the three by a fair margin. This movie should perhaps have been rolled into Reloaded to make one movie.

Bentley, I like your ending much better. I was thinking something along the same lines when Neo fought Smith (assimilate all Smiths and gain huge clout with the machines).

Eclipse noted some odd things that I didn't notice and some I did. There were some other things that bothered me but I will save it until re-watching. The main plot element that I didn't like was the fact that the Oracle has such incredible power to basically manipulate the plot of the entire trilogy.

All in all, I was disappointed. (I really liked both the first and second Matrix movies.)

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I think it should have ended! Damn, I had no intention of typing all that. I got creative
