IMO it really doesnt matter who wins because all of the banners are pretty much the same thing. Dont get me wrong, they all look good and I wished I could do half as good as them on this kind of stuff, but they all look exactly the same.

If this was on me though, I would have to go with the 5th or the 6th from the bottom. Either one of those look great. Its simple, it doesnt claim anything, and it explains what we are by asking a simple question "Do you want to play with the big boys?". Its perfect. Who ever did it, WTG! Honestly, its perfect.

Of course this is just my opinion and I am sure I am probably the only person who sees it this way.

These were points TG suggested they would like to bring across in the orginal post announcing the contest.

Again, this is meant to be constructive criticism. I think we are missing a large market by being too damn serious. Sure people can say "well we are going for our target audience. No, that's wrong. Our target audience is people with money who like to play games while doing it maturely.

Great work guys. A few lil flaws but some top notch entries none the less. I also think any clan affiliations is a mistake. We all know clans come and go way to frequently to put them in our banner.
Whoever wins congrats, to those who don't, we can tell you gave it your all.
People are all ready playing these games for fun and all ready enjoy them or they would not need to come to TG anyhow. These simply show how we like to structure our fun.

While eternal has a good point, here's how I see it: People play games to have fun. What sets TacticalGamer apart from other servers is the theme of these banners. There simply aren't that many places to play games that have the maturity and teamwork that you can find here...

Great submissions, BTW! I hope this page is left up so that people can use them as sig pics in other forums...

Teamwork I can see, that I totally agree with. But the maturity part I am a little lost on. How does one define "mature"?

    Websters says
    Main Entry: 1ma·ture
    Pronunciation: m&-'tur, -'tyur also -'chur
    Function: adjective
    Inflected Form(s): ma·tur·er; -est
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin maturus ripe; akin to Latin mane in the morning, manus good
    Date: 15th century
1 : based on slow careful consideration <a mature judgment>
    2 a (1) : having completed natural growth and development : RIPE (2) : having undergone maturation b : having attained a final or desired state <mature wine> c : having achieved a low but stable growth rate <paper is a mature industry>
3 a : of or relating to a condition of full development b : characteristic of or suitable to a mature individual <mature outlook>
    4 : due for payment <a mature loan>
5 : belonging to the middle portion of a cycle of erosion
    - ma·ture·ly adverb

    Main Entry: 2mature
    Function: verb
    Inflected Form(s): ma·tured; ma·tur·ing
    Date: 15th century
transitive senses : to bring to maturity or completion
    intransitive senses
1 : to become fully developed or ripe
    2 : to become due

    also

    Entry Word: mature
    Function: adjective
Text: 1 having attained the normal peak of natural growth and development <mature plants ready to bear fruit>
Synonyms adult, full-blown, full-fledged, full-grown, grown, grown-up, matured, ripe, ripened
    Related Word developed, ready
    Idioms of age
Contrasted Words childish, childlike; boyish, green, juvenile, maiden, puerile, youthful
    Antonyms immature
    2
    Synonyms DUE 2, payable
    3
Synonyms UNPAID 2, due, outstanding, overdue, owing, payable, unsettled
I think the key thinking on maturity here at TG is to act and react in a mature adult manner instead of an imature childish manner. Patience is part of maturity. Maturity does not necessarily mean age in this environment but in actions. How you react with your fellow teammates. do you work with a team? do you listen to and follow orders? Or do you run off at first spawn and get yourself or your teammates killed. Most games in most servers are nothing but a fragfest. everyone's running around killing anything that moves. Half the time it's their own teammates. There is no order, only chaos and you very quickly lose the fun in the game. Being mature means understanding that at TG we play differently and respecting that if someone's going to play here they need to leave the fragfest on the other server.

I get a feeling that most of the people who made these banners played Ghost recon?

Ghost Recon plays a very important role at TG. Without it, everyone might realize that NS is actually the most active game here. As it is, the server is full every night. We can't handle any more players.

They are all great, but the third from the bottom mentions NS and BF1942 so gets my vote.

I am envious of the gFX 5KiL1z.

Yes I do. And given the dig I took, I can't believe you had the self-restraint not to blurt it out. I need to think of a way for us to become more active in THAT way as well. :?
