Question Mature Gamers?

I am not new to gaming but new to gaming with those that I don't know. I tend to stick to LAN parties and single player games, but I thought I would start becoming more social since I just bought World of Warcraft.

I noticed that the subtitle said that this is a place for Mature Gamers. I was wondering what is meant by that? I am hoping that it is more of the respectful, down to earth players.

I am finding myself becoming less like the average gamer or at least less like the gamers that show up in all the magazines. Just wanted to know what everybody else thought before I immerse my self in a community.

Apophis can give you the official spiel, but what you've said sums it up nicely, I think.

Re: Mature Gamers?

As Trooper said, we're not about skills. This community is formed because we like objective team based gaming. We work together to try and provide the best gaming experience online.

There is no age restriction, but many of us our in our 20s/30s. There are also some in their teens. Regardless of age, we do expect everyone to show respect and have a certain level of maturity.

We're about the team and not the individual.

Re: Mature Gamers?

Yup. 40 yr old here. I joined here because I liked the simple philosophy - of not acting like an arse and being in squads. Makes a certain amount of sense for a squad-based game, and seems to be pretty well admined as well.

If I start spending a lot of time ingame, I will be trying out the paid membership option I reckon.

Good thing I read this thread, because I was wondering the exact same thing. So, do I get any extra kudos points for actually having been in the military? ;o)
