Funny, the first thing (and only thing actually, as I've never heard of a band by that name) that I think of when I see the name Atreyu is the character from the old movies "The Neverending Story"

Very good original movie, good sequal, the others are okay...

I never understood......

At the risk of answering a question that never intended a response... I'll answer it anyway

Because the story never ended... just the movie

The sequals etc are just the continuation of the same story (actually, just like every other sequal or trillogy out there).

Anyways, I found the first 3 movies on DVD a few years back each for $5.00 or something like that. Picked them up in a heartbeat, my wife had never heard of them!

In my entirly unadulterated opinion, I really cannot think of many bands that I hate more that I have actually heard.

That's Atreyu. They're basically a generic mallcore screamo band.

Not unlike It Dies Today, Caliban and a lesser extent, Circle Takes the Square, all of which who do a similar style with ten times the proficiancy.

Yeah but Atreyu was one of the first, so I will give them some respect there. (Circle is the best hardcore ever :-p).
