well, its a site where people can set up a weB LOG (blog).

You can put anything you want in there. Bullies at school beat you up? Got your girlfriend pregnant? Starting a religious cult? Write about it in your own tactical blog.

I must've missed the craze, but as best I can tell, a blog is like a publicly viewable diary. I don't see the attraction, personally. I much prefer the interactive atmosphere of forums like we have here.

Haha. Before I even heard the word blog, I knew everyone in my school had been using livejournal.com which I believe is one of the well known blog sites. My gf and her friends are pretty much addicted to it.

In addition to what korm said (and to expound on what Cing said), writing in a blog can be about anything you wish. Some use TacticalBlog to write about how their day went, some use it to keep the world updated on projects they have going on, others use it for discussion of BF2 tactics. The possibilities are endless.

But the difference between a blog and the forum is that the forum is a conversation while the blog is a soapbox. The forums have discussions; blogs have Rants From On High.

so a blog most likely is you talking to yourself.. how many people would actually go read someone else's blog... unless they were a porn star or maybe a soldier in combat writing about battles he's in...

My life, like most others wouldn't be a good read... I would think.

I was just wondering... 1) what a blog was? I heard it on TV, some guy saying"that is so going in my blog". 2) what, if any, reason would I have for a blog.

I thought about my 10 years in the Army... alot of good story's, but only good to me and the people involved.

I then thought about a Police K9 training/usage blog, but that could be used against me or contain sensitive information.

Then I thought, it's a "tactical blog"... maybe I could use it as a story telling platform for the different games I play, mission walk thoughts and the tactics used... like in SWAT 4 or AA.

I know that I sent in some info and pictures of me in my Army days (10 years in) to America's Army, which put them in a blog... even thou I had no idea what it was.

None of the livejournal/myspace/whatever people are ever really interesting. They just talk about random stupid stuff.

Except for John Longstreth. He can play drums really really goddamned fast though, so that's good.

Every now and then, someone that either has some unique experiences or that is a good writer will have their blog hit the big time for a while. You know how the slashdot effect works, right? All it takes is for someone to mention your blog in a large public forum and next thing you know the whole world is looking at it. I heard that there was a Washington DC intern that was blogging her experiences boinking Congressmen and other highly placed politicians. Her blog became popular.

I didn't know you were a K9 officer. What kinda dog do you have? I worked with a K9 unit in Arizona last summer. The four legged officer was a Belgian Malinais (sp?). Great dog, but could turn vicious in an instant if you did something that she didn't like....

German Shepard right now... I've been a dog handler for 6 of my 10 years in the Army, and now 2 of my 10 years as a civilian police officer... current dog is SHADOW...
