Pandora Radio
This has probably been around for a while but thought I'd pass it along anyway:
www.pandora.com It's a pretty decent internet radio that bases the songs it streams to you off songs that are like the ones you add to your station. There's more explanantion at the site of what's going on in the background but it basically boils down to catagorizing songs by tempo, orchestration, vocal tones, etc. and not by traditional labes. It's being pretty good to me right now--at least untill my 10 free hours are up :P Edit: They have some obscure stuff... wow.

Re: Pandora Radio
In related news, we've recently been enjoying in #tacticalgamer a shoutcast server that I set up for us to share our music with each other. With so many people in the channel, it's rather interesting to hear the different music we all listen to... many different genres. Someone simply plays music through their Winamp, and anyone listening to the stream hears it. It's fun.

Re: Pandora Radio
I just wanted to bump this back up to the top, as I'm listening to Pandora right now and am amazed at how she finds music that I've never heard of that I like instantly.
Give Pandora an hour or two per radio station that you create, and she will amaze you too!

Re: Pandora Radio
Any of you guys still using this? They added a "friends" feature - I'd be interested in checking out what stations you guys have created. If you want to add me, the address is whiskeysix@tacticalgamer.com

Re: Pandora Radio
If TG wasn't the best thing since sliced bread than Pandora would hold that honor.
My account is...... docarce@bellsouth.net Favorites are Red Hot Chilly Peppers(even though I removed them from the station) and Unkle

Re: Pandora Radio
I'm constantly adding, removing and editing my stations. In fact, the stations might barely resemble their title because I've added artists and thrown lots of thumbs up and down at 'em...
I probably listen to my Jazz station the most, which has been customized mainly by giving thumbs up to songs with acoustic bass solos. My address there is datruedave using Google's mail address. (think that's obscure enough to foil a few spambots?)

Re: Pandora Radio
I use it on occasion, but only for a few mixes. It tends to deviate from the songs I like, even using the customization options.
